Abstract
A chatbot is a piece of software that offers the user a genuine conversational experience. Learning to converse using only a few examples is a great challenge in conversational AI. The current best conversational models are either good chit-chatters or goal-oriented systems. Training these models is expensive both in terms of computational resources and time. A simple yet unexplored solution is a chatbot based on few-shot learning, which does not require gradient-based fine-tuning but instead uses a few examples as the only source of learning. It’s a great way to mimic human conversations. More rules and natural language processing have been incorporated into chatbots over time so that intended users can interact with them in a conversational way. In fact, current chatbots may adapt as they experience more and more human language since they are contextually smart.
