    53 pc favours interim Govt tenure 2 yrs or less: Survey - 96 pc limiting PM's tenure

    53 percent of voters think that the term of the interim government should be two years or less. Such information has emerged in a survey conducted by South Asian Institute of Policy and Governance (SIPG) of North South University (NSU). SIPG announced the results of the survey in a seminar titled 'National Survey 2024: Citizens' Expectations from the Interim Government of Bangladesh' at the National Press Club on Wednesday. The Chief Guest of the Electoral System Reform Commission and Secretary of Citizens for Good Governance (Sujan) was Dr. Badiul Alam Majumdar. SIPG advisor Prof. Salahuddin M. also spoke at the seminar chaired by Prof. Mahbubur Rahman, chairman of the history and philosophy department of North South University. Aminuzzaman, North South University Political Science and Sociology Department Professor Navin Murshid and others.

    NSU Royals champion of NSU admin officials' football

    NSU welcomes freshers, celebrates Orientation Summer 2024

    University (NSU) on Saturday celebrated the Orientation Summer 2024 in a befitting manner. Through the colourful event, the university authorities welcomed freshers and acquainted them with the universitys culture and academic approach. In the orientation ceremony, 18 meritorious students were awarded full scholarships for their outstanding performance in the undergraduate (honours) admission test. Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury, Editor of The Daily Observer, addressed the function as chief guest with NSU Treasurer and also Pro Vice-Chancellor (In-Charge) Prof Abdur Rob Khan in the chair. Chairman of the NSU Board of Trustees Javed Muneer Ahmad spoke as the guest of honour at the event and Board Member Seema Ahmad as the special guest.

    President asks students to build up character

    President and Chancellor of the University Justice Sahabuddin Ahmed called upon the students to become good citizens and characters to contribute to the development of the country. He said while addressing the first convocation ceremony of North South University, was held on Wednesday at the Army Stadium in Dhaka. Founder President of North South University Musleh Uddin Ahmed delivered the welcome address. Chairman of Board of Governance MA Awal, University of Southern Indiana President H. Ray Hoopes also spoke on the occasion.

    Prof Abdul Hannan made NSU VC

    Professor Abdul Hannan Chowdhury has been appointed as the new Vice Chancellor of North South University (NSU). He served two terms as Dean of NSU's School of Business and Economics (SBE). Apart from this, he was the Executive Director of NSU's External Relations, Director of BBA Program, Syndicate Member and Director of Career Services. Porf Abdul Hannan Chowdhury previoudly served as Vice-Chancellor of Prime Asia University and Pro-Vice-Chancellor of Eastern University. Abdul Hannan Chowdhury has 34 years of teaching and research experience in various universities of the world including Bangladesh, Canada, USA. He served as Chairman and Director of Grameen Bank.

    Southeast Bank organises capacity development programme

    Southeast Bank Training Institute organised a capacity development programme to improve marketing expertise on retail banking loan and credit card recently. The programme aims to equip banking professionals with advanced strategies and practical skills. The bank's Chairman M. A. Kashem and Managing Director Nuruddin Md. Sadeque Hossain delivered their speeches at the event. A total of 70 bankers from different branches of the bank participated in the training session.
