North South University and Progressive Columnist Forum of Bangladesh jointly organised a seminar titled ‘From prison to release: Bangabandhu to Sheikh Hasina’, marking prison release day of prime minister Sheikh Hasina on Tuesday. Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury, education and cultural affairs adviser to the PM, was present as chief guest and professor Mizanur Rahman, president of Bangladesh Progressive Columnist Forum was chief discussant, said a press release. Lawmaker Nazma Akhter, professor Rashid Askari, vice president of Bangladesh Progressive Columnist Forum, and Md Afizur Rahman, executive director of Dainik Bangla, and Newsbangla24 were present as special guests. General secretary of Bangladesh Progressive Columnist Forum professor Milton Biswas presented the keynote paper at the seminar. NSU vice-chancellor professor Atiqul Islam presided over the programme. Professor Abdur Rob Khan, treasurer and pro-vice-chancellor (acting) of NSU, delivered welcome address.
