She was 70, said a press release. She had been suffering from cancer. She left behind her children, sisters, nephews, nieces, and grandchildren. Deena Parveen contributed to the field of English Language Teaching, and academia.She earned her PhD from the University of Toledo. She joined the Department of English and Modern Languages at North South University in 1997.

"Bangladesh's previous government tried its best to address the concerns of India…. But India did not take measures to address those of Bangladesh," he said. The adviser was speaking at a roundtable on India-Bangladesh relationship, co-hosted by the South Asian Institute of Policy and Governance (SIPG) and North South University's political science and sociology department, at the university. Touhid said Bangladesh is not a threat to anyone. Addressing the event, BNP Vice Chairman SM Asaduzzaman Ripon said the AL regime provided facilities to India without proper negotiations, solely to stay in power, thereby weakening its bargaining position. AB Party Joint Member Secretary Asaduzzaman Fuaad, former diplomat Saquib Ali, NSU Vice Chancellor Prof Abdul Hannan Chowdhury, SIPG Director Sk Tawfique M Haque and NSU Associate Professor M Jashim Uddin also spoke at the event.

NSU Treasurer and Pro Vice-Chancellor (Acting) Prof. Abdur Rab Khan was present at the event. One of the main attractions of the first day was "Mechanics Mania", which saw participation from students from different universities. Another thrilling competition was "Buzzer Master", where university students were tested on their ability to think quickly. The "Battle of Brains" competition featured students from schools and colleges competing in a fun quiz. The second day of Civil Fest 2025 continued with the poster and project presentations from the previous day. he prize-giving ceremony commenced at 3:30 PM and was attended by distinguished guests including Chief Guest Prof. Dr M Shamim Z Bosunia and Guest of Honour Prof. Dr M Feroze Ahmed, along with other special guests.

Mohammad Inzamul Haque, Assistant Personal Secretary to the Education Adviser at the Ministry of Education, highlighted the broader value of such competitions, noting, Nabiha Tahseen Nubah from Sunny Dale School emerged as the champion in the Senior Category, while Ibnat Namira Ahmed from Summerfield International School claimed the top spot in the Junior Category.

M. Saidur Rahman Mashreky, Associate Professor at NSU’s Department of Public Health. The session was chaired by Professor Abdur Rob Khan, Treasurer and Pro-Vice Chancellor (In-Charge) of North South University. The program featured a poster exhibition showcasing student perspectives on mental health, alongside a panel discussion that explored emerging challenges and opportunities in youth mental wellbeing.
