- ItemOpen AccessAutomated Hydroponic System Using IOT and Cloud Computing(North South University, 2019) Ramiza Maliha; Md. Nahid Rahman Ontu; Syed Tahmid Abra; Zunayeed Bin Zahir; 1430592042; 1431123042; 1430651042In this report, we have explored the idea of automation in regards of hydroponic system. The purpose of this project was to make this process more manageable and accessible for the masses so that the people of Bangladesh can re-establish the slowly falling agricultural sector with advance new technology. As the unemployment rate is increasing and people are looking for new ways to stabilize the growing economy that people of Bangladesh has worked hard for, the most lucrative offer can come from the most back dated sector of our country, thus the hydroponic system. Hydroponic system can be the emancipator of our agricultural system, albeit the venture is quite risky due to the fact that we lack both knowledge and resources. Since, hydroponic system present itself as something of a sacrilege, which more often than not, people tends to avoid. Furthermore, with the backward technology we have mixed with the lack of understanding, most of the enthusiast either gives up half way or are still struggling. Ergo, this project is aiming to help the entrepreneurs to invest in agriculture so that we can not only reinvent our agriculture sector with new generation of young people, but also provide the country with adequate food, medicinal plant, foreign plants etc. We are integrating internet of things (IoT) and cloud computing to ease the hydroponic system, which requires constant maintenance, so that the new comers has more access.
- ItemOpen AccessAutomatic Vehicle Detection and Counting System for Traffic Analysis(North South University, 2020-12) Foizur Rahaman; Shadat Irtisamul Haque; Muntasir Karim Chowdhury; Imran Mahmud Sadman; Zunayeed Bin Zahir; 1620551042; 1610835042; 1620633042; 1610940042Traffic Analysis has been a serious problem that urban planners and engineers are doing research to deal with. They are developing smarter ways to reduce or solve this serious issue. Traffic problems aren't a new issue but it is increasing day by day in many parts of the world due to the increase in vehicles. It is especially very evident in developing countries. Analysis of traffic is very significant and may be used to count the number of vehicles in an area or a lane. Over the time these systems have matured big time and some of them are highly effective, but all of them are not very budget friendly. The Government has to pay a hefty amount of money to maintain these services time and again. Sometimes in a manually traffic controlled area where three or more roads are connected, we see traffic police releasing one of the roads or direction frequently. But, the other direction or lanes are full of vehicles that he does not know. If some device or system could tell him the number of vehicles on the road, that would reduce traffic in that area. This device or system will also help them to take precaution in that particular time to increase traffic police or to take other necessary steps as they will be able to know the rush hours on a daily basis. Therefore, this study has proposed a vision based vehicle counting. We propose a solution which will aim to detect and count vehicles from Surveillance Footage (TSF) or video.

The time required to carry out the conventional methods to detect brain stroke on a patient requires both trained personal and time. Any discrepancy in the process might also lead to fatal consequences. To make the stroke detection technique less formidable, this report presents a method that minimizes the amount of time taken to detect stroke in a patient applying the FAST system coupled with a deep learning model that detects facial drooping and speech paralysis. We have compared different pre-trained models to find out the best suitable one for detecting vocal and facial paralysis. In our findings, we successfully ran tests on facial image and voice recording datasets. We were able to attain 99.67% training accuracy and a 99.37% validation accuracy using the VGG-16 deep learning model for facial paralysis and 73.02% training accuracy and 76.86% validation accuracy using the ANN deep learning model for vocal paralysis.
- ItemOpen AccessElectricity generation using gravity and buoyancy force(North South University, 0000) Amena Akter Sumona; Abdullah Al Noman; Anisur Rahman; Shah Sadad Ahmed Nabil; Zunayeed Bin Zahir; 1510209043; 1513174043; 1510652043; 1220793643The consumer of electricity is increasing day by day due to many domestic and convenient electric devices like TV, fridge, lift etc. As a result, production of electricity has also increased over the years. Patrol, gas, coal etc are used to produce electricity, which causes environmental pollutions and global warming. If that goes on for too long, there will be a time when the earth may need to face the scarcity of all those resources in the near future. Consequently, there is a huge need for producing power from renewable sources. The reason for choosing gravity is that it is available everywhere on Earth and it does not diminish. In this project we present an electrical generator, which will be powered by gravitational and buoyancy force. The generator is divided in two parts, the mechanical domain and the electrical domain.

This transition to a smart grid, according to the industry, will improve both delivery and consumption techniques
- ItemOpen AccessIntrusion Detection System in a Cloud Network Using K Nearest Neighbour Algorithm(North South University, 2019) Hasibul Alam Ratul; Badiuzzaman Pranto; Ishrat Jahan Diya; Md. Mahidur Rahman; Zunayeed Bin Zahir; 1520362042; 1512236042; 1510688042; 1510494042In this project, we are going to develop an Intrusion Detection System in a Cloud Network Using K Nearest Neighbour Algorithm which can detect a few number of intrusions and notify the admin as well. An IDS is capable of monitoring all or parts of the dynamic behavior and the state of a computer system, based on how it is configured. Besides such activities as dynamically inspect network packets targeted at this specific host, an IDS might detect which program accesses what resources and discover that, for example, a wordprocessor has suddenly and inexplicably started modifying the system password database. Similarly a HIDS might look at the state of a system, its stored information, whether in RAM, in the file system, log files or elsewhere; and check that the contents of these appear as expected, e.g. have not been changed by intruders. One can think of an IDS as an agent that monitors whether anything or anyone, whether internal or external, has circumvented the system's security policy.
- ItemOpen AccessIOT based Garbage management system for Smart Cities(North South University, 2021) Tashreef Jahan; Rifatul Islam Rifat; Ahnaf Nurul Ahasa; Zunayeed Bin Zahir; 1712500643; 1712152643; 1711002043With the rapid increase of population and industrialization of nations, throughout the world, waste management has become a great concern for all of us. The improvement of the waste collection service in cities, generally the achievement of more efficient waste management is one of the main challenges that the cities face. Due to the lack of waste management, it creates unhygienic situation to the citizens. Nowadays, huge progress is shown in the field of information and communication technology. People’s interest in using of electronic products such as computers and mobile devices are increasing. To avoid this waste management problem IOT based Smart Waste Management system is considered as a trending solution. Researchers also have introduced IoT based Smart waste management solutions and initiatives so that we can reduce the time and amount of energy required to provide the service, and also can reduce the waste generated. But the developing countries like Bangladesh, are not being able to apply the solutions due to many facts where socioeconomic environment is one of them. Many times, in our city we see that the garbage bins placed at public place is overloaded which creates an unhygienic environment. In this proposed system, a dustbin with embedded device will be made which helps in real time monitoring level of garbage in garbage bins. In this project, we will develop IoT based smart waste management system for developing countries like Bangladesh which ensures proper collection of waste, disposal and transportation with minimum amount of resources.
- ItemOpen AccessSustainable Eco-friendly Reward Bin Using RVM by Detecting Recyclable waste and Generating points according to the weight of the Materials.(North South University, 2019-09-30) Md. Rubaith Adnan; Mehedy Hassan; Md. Anowar Hosen; Mohammad Bin Khesru; Zunayeed Bin Zahir; 1510538642; 1521214042; 1512366043; 1321489042In this project we present a system where the machine will receive three types of industrialized bottles and according to their weight it will generate some point for the user. With certain amount of points the user can collect money or some sort of reward depends on the system manufactures and the system service providers. First of all we will build a RVM (Reverse Vending Machine) and it can take three types of industrialized bottles like plastic bottles, Aluminum cans or Glass jars then it will measure the weight and pass to the next phase to sort it out. In the next phase the sensors will differentiate among these materials and will sort it and put them on desired container. While sorting the materials it already generated some points according to it’s weight. As we already set the threshold weight for the different materials the point Generation will be valid. The user will get a slip with point mentioned on it and s/he can collect The reward using that slip. The service provider will decide what type of reward a user will get At what amount of points. This project idea was developed because of the excessive amount of Plastic bottles on the street and it is harmful for the environment also. The recycling industries Are very profitable but it needs lots of manpower and it is not cost effective, so with this Machine it will be cost efficient as well as environment friendly. The people will encourage to Use the machine as they are benefiting. Thus this project is profitable from economic aspect at the same time it is very useful for keeping the environment from pollution which can not be reversed these days. We can see people using trash here and there even the vast ocean is getting polluted with this types of material everyday. No government or organization can do anything on their own in this regard but making people interested to keep the environment clean can be the next step to save the environment from destroying completely.
