- ItemOpen AccessNSU 25th convocation held in Dhaka(The Daily Star, 2024-12-08) The Daily StarNorth South University (NSU) held its 25th convocation ceremony at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Centre in Purbachal, Dhaka yesterday. Over 8,000 students were awarded graduation degrees at the event, according to a press release. Education and Planning Adviser Prof Wahiduddin Mahmud presided over the ceremony, conferring degrees on behalf of President Mohammed Shahabuddin. The event featured a welcome address by Prof Md Mamun Molla, chair of the Department of Mathematics and Physics. Gwyn Lewis, the UN resident coordinator for Bangladesh, was the convocation speaker. Azim Uddin Ahmed, chairman of the NSU Board of Trustees, congratulated the graduates. NSU Vice-Chancellor Prof Abdul Hannan Chowdhury also addressed the gathering.
- ItemOpen AccessNSU holds MPPG and EMPG orientation programme(The Daily Star, 2025-01-23) The Daily StarThe Spring 2025 semester orientation programme for the 12th Batch of Master in Public Policy & Governance (MPPG) and 7th Batch of Executive Masters in Policy and Governance (EMPG) was held on 18 January at North South University (NSU). Håkon Arald Gulbrandsen, Ambassador of Norway to Bangladesh, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The orientation commenced with a warm welcome from Prof. Sk Tawfique M Haque, Director of SIPG, NSU. Following introductions by the new students, Dr Rizwan Khair, Associate Professor and Chair of PSS and Graduate Programme Coordinator (GPC) at SIPG, provided a comprehensive overview of the MPPG and EMPG programmes.

The session was chaired by Professor Abdul Hannan Choudhury, Vice-Chancellor of NSU. NSU Treasurer and Pro Vice-Chancellor (IC) Professor Abdur Rob Khan delivered the vote of thanks.
