- ItemOpen AccessNSU confers degrees to 3,322 students at 26th convocation(The Daily Sun, 2026-01-08) The Daily SunNorth South University (NSU) awarded degrees to 3,322 students, including 2,646 undergraduates and 676 postgraduates, at its 26th Convocation on the university campus on Wednesday. Education Adviser Prof Chowdhury Rafiqul Abrar presided over the programme as the Convocation Chair. Prof SMA Faiz, chairman of the University Grants Commission of Bangladesh, served as the convocation speaker. NSU Board of Trustees Chairman Aziz Al Kaiser said, “Today is a moment of pride. Lead with integrity, stay true to your roots, and serve humanity as you pursue a meaningful life.” NSU VC Prof Abdul Hannan Chowdhury said, “Today is a proud and joyful occasion for our university as we graduate 3,322 students. To all of you, we entrust the responsibility and opportunity to shape our country’s future.” UGC member Prof Mohammad Anwar Hossen attended the event as the special guest.
- ItemOpen Accessডিগ্রি নয় দায়িত্বের শপথ - এনএসইউ সমাবর্তনে গণতন্ত্র ও নৈতিক নেতৃত্বের আহ্বান(আমাদের সময়, 2026-01-08) আমাদের সময়গতকাল বুধবার রাজধানীর বসুন্ধরায় এনএসইউ ক্যাম্পাসে আয়োজিত এই সমাবর্তনে মোট ৩ হাজার ৩২২ শিক্ষার্থীকে ডিগ্রি প্রদান করা হয়। এর মধ্যে ২ হাজার ৬৪৬ জন স্নাতক এবং ৬৭৬ জন স্নাতকোত্তর পর্যায়ের শিক্ষার্থী। সমাবর্তনে কনভোকেশন চেয়ার হিসেবে বক্তব্য দেন শিক্ষা উপদেষ্টা অধ্যাপক ড. সি আর আবরার। তিনি বলেন, আজকের দিনটি শুধু ডিগ্রি অর্জনের নয়; তোমরা ভবিষ্যতে সমাজ ও রাষ্ট্রকে কী দেবে, সেটিই সবচেয়ে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ প্রশ্ন। সমাবর্তন বক্তা হিসেবে বক্তব্য দেন বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় মঞ্জুরি কমিশনের (ইউজিসি) চেয়ারম্যান অধ্যাপক ড. এসএমএ ফায়েজ। বিশেষ অতিথির হিসেবে বক্তব্য দেন ইউজিসি সদস্য (বেসরকারি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়) অধ্যাপক ড. মোহাম্মদ আনোয়ার হোসেন I অনুষ্ঠানে উপস্থিত ছিলেন নর্থ সাউথ ইউনিভার্সিটির বোর্ড অব ট্রাস্টিজের চেয়ারম্যান আজিজ আল কায়সার, বোর্ড অব ট্রাস্টিজের সদস্য এমএ কাশেম, বোর্ড অব ট্রাস্টিজের সদস্য বেনজীর আহমেদ, বোর্ড অব ট্রাস্টিজের সদস্য মো. শাহজাহান, বোর্ড অব ট্রাস্টিজের সদস্য মিসেস ইয়াছমিন কামাল, বোর্ড অব ট্রাস্টিজের সদস্য মিসেস রেহানা রহমান, বোর্ড অব ট্রাস্টিজের সদস্য মিসেস দুলুমা আহমেদ; এনএসইউ’র উপাচার্য অধ্যাপক আবদুল হান্নান চৌধুরী; এনএসইউ’র উপ-উপাচার্য ড. নেছার উদ্দিন আহমেদ; এবং এনএসইউ’র কোষাধ্যক্ষ অধ্যাপক আবদুর রব খান।

Highlighting the leadership roles of NSU alumni in business, finance, law, technology, development, media, academia, and public policy across cities such as Dhaka, Singapore, London, Toronto, and Sydney, he said, their work reflects Bangladesh’s booming presence as a source of skilled and globally competitive leadership. University Grants Commission chairman Professor SMA Faiz was the convocation speaker and UGC member Professor Mohammad Anwar Hossen was the special guest.
- ItemOpen Accessনর্থ সাউথ বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের সমাবর্তন - বেসরকারি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে প্রবেশাধিকার সহজ হলে জ্ঞানের বিস্তার বাড়বে: শিক্ষা উপদেষ্টা(বণিক বার্তা, 2026-01-08) বণিক বার্তাবুধবার (৭ জানুয়ারি) রাজধানীতে নর্থ সাউথ বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ২৬তম সমাবর্তন অনুষ্ঠানে সভাপতির বক্তব্যে শিক্ষা উপদেষ্টা অধ্যাপক ড. চৌধুরী রফিকুল আবরার বলেন, শিক্ষা যদি কেবল ব্যক্তিগত উন্নয়নের মধ্যে সীমাবদ্ধ থাকে, তাহলে সেই শিক্ষা যথাযথভাবে কাজে লাগে না। সমাজকে এগিয়ে নিতে শিক্ষার সুযোগ ও অর্জিত জ্ঞান ব্যবহার করাই শিক্ষার্থীদের মূল দায়িত্ব। এবারের সমাবর্তনে মোট ৩ হাজার ৩২২ জন শিক্ষার্থীকে ডিগ্রি দেয়া হয়। এর মধ্যে ২ হাজার ৬৪৬ জন স্নাতক এবং ৬৭৬ জন স্নাতকোত্তর ডিগ্রি অর্জন করেন। সমাবর্তনে সমাবর্তন বক্তা হিসেবে বক্তব্য দেন বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় মঞ্জুরী কমিশনের চেয়ারম্যান অধ্যাপক ড. এস এম এ ফায়েজ। বিশেষ অতিথির বক্তব্যে বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় মঞ্জুরী কমিশনের সদস্য অধ্যাপক ড. মোহাম্মদ আনোয়ার হোসেন বলেন, শিক্ষা সমাজে ইতিবাচক পরিবর্তনে ভূমিকা রাখার কথা থাকলেও দীর্ঘদিন ধরে শিক্ষাব্যবস্থা সে দায়িত্ব যথাযথভাবে পালন করতে পারেনি। অনুষ্ঠানে আরো বক্তব্য দেন নর্থ সাউথ বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের উপাচার্য অধ্যাপক আবদুল হান্নান চৌধুরী ও বোর্ড অব ট্রাস্টিজের চেয়ারম্যান আজিজ আল কায়সার।
- ItemOpen AccessNSU confers degrees on over 3,000 graduates at 26th convocation(The Financial Express, 2026-01-11) The Financial ExpressNorth South University (NSU) held its 26th convocation ceremony on January 07 at its campus, awarding degrees to more than 3,000 undergraduate and postgraduate students. Professor Dr Chowdhury Rafiqul Abrar, adviser to the Ministry of Education, chaired the convocation, whilst Professor Dr SMA Faiz, chairman of the University Grants Commission (UGC), delivered the convocation address. Professor Dr Mohammad Anwar Hossen, UGC Member, attended as a special guest. The ceremony was attended by NSU's Board of Trustees, including Chairman Aziz Al Kaiser, alongside Vice-Chancellor Professor Abdul Hannan Chowdhury, Pro Vice-Chancellor Dr Nasar Uddin Ahmed, and Treasurer Professor Abdur Rob Khan. Professor Md Mamun Molla from NSU's Department of Mathematics and Physics, serving as Convocation Marshall. Following the convocation speaker's remarks, the Deans of NSU's four schools-Professor AKM Waresul Karim (Business and Economics), Professor Md Rizwanul Islam (Humanities and Social Sciences), Professor Shazzad Hosain (Engineering and Physical Sciences), and Professor Dipak Kumar Mitra (Health and Life Sciences)-presented the degree candidates. Professor Dr Chowdhury Rafiqul Abrar formally conferred the degrees.
