Zaman also noted key differences between the two disciplines, stressing that cinematography demands quicker visual evolution and involves more compromises due to environmental and budgetary constraints. Citing Polish cinematographer Witold Sobocinski, he shared a guiding principle that inspires his work: “Make pictures, don’t make photographs.”
